Blog Tour - Spurs and Stilettos By Ashley Johnson

Hope Trahan has everything she wants and everyone she needs…except her sister and someone who really is deserving of her. Who knew two separate events would turn everything completely upside down? When her best friend drags her down to the rodeo to help clear her head the last thing she expects is to meet a sexy, sweet talking cowboy. That's not what she came for but fate had other things in mind.

Wesley Tyler owns two national titles and is riding his way to the next. The day he meets Hope, he knows there's no going back. He soon learns Hope carries ghosts with her she can't quite shake. She holds things she wishes she could let go of. Wesley just may hold the key to helping her overcome it all. Can he win her over and help mend her broken walls or will her past hold her down?

This is an amazing, heartbreaking story. I really, really loved it.

Hope ha had her share of devastating  tragedies. first she loses her sister on the way home from the rodeo, then she walks in on her boyfriend with another girl.

How much more can this girl take.

It's hard enough losing a sibling, I know first hand about this, and it's something you never get over. But then to find out your other half is cheating is enough to make a person lose there mind.

I love Hope and could totally see myself in her. No matter what she's been through she has her moments of weakness she picks herself back up and carries on. Until she meets Wesley. Everyone should have a Wesley.

he shakes her upside down and inside out and she starts to live again.

This is one I would recommend you add to your "TBR" list.

I give this 4/5 stars.

“Excuse me ladies.” The voice comes from nowhere and I look around spotting Amber first with her jaw on the ground. She’s speechless, this never happens with her. My eyes roam to find what’s got her in a comatose state and standing right in front of us is a guy in Wranglers so tight it should be a crime and a baby blue dress shirt with those snap buttons. This guy is playing this cowboy part a little too seriously. His boots are even worn like they are the only pair of shoes he owns. Oh brother, is he kidding me? I roll my eyes while Ambers jaw is still on the floor.
She slowly closes her mouth and manages a weak smile. “Hi.”
My eyes feel like they are constantly rolling, this is a damn joke. We’re next at the concession stand and I lean forward asking for a Bud Light. The girl hands me a big plastic cup filled to the brim. Thank you God. I take a big sip letting the cool liquid slide down my throat. I look back to see he’s still standing there and he’s looking at me. Practically staring. His green eyes are sparkling like emeralds and it takes a second before I’m able to tear mine away.
“I’m Wesley.” That drawl in his voice is almost making me swoon but I stop it. He extends his hand out to me. I can practically hear Amber scoff and I’m agreeing with her. Why isn’t this guy talking to her? I am nowhere near ready to speak to another guy.
Baffled, I just stand there trying to decipher what’s going on. “I’m Amber, this is Hope.” Amber interjects and I shoot daggers at her begging her to shut up. She’s smiling, and I know exactly what she’s doing.
“Nice to meet you Hope. I won’t bite, I swear. I may nibble and that’s it.” Oh man Wesley sure has some nerve! I’m rolling my eyes again and I’m really praying he doesn’t notice because I’m not trying to be rude.
“Nice to meet you too,” I mumble.
“I hope you like the rodeo tonight.” He says never taking his emerald green eyes away from mine. The intensity of his stare takes my breath away.

My human roar was nowhere as loud as my dragon’s, but it helped me gain control. When my anger settled slightly, I walked into her chamber. I whipped the covering back and saw the curve of her breast. I craved her full nakedness. I examined every inch that I could see knowing she would sleep through my perusal. Even beneath the material, her incredible form curved in all the right places. Her breasts were full, and I had a small glimpse of one nipple, small and rosy. I wanted to suckle, flick the tip with my tongue. I arranged my cock beneath the human jeans. I should have put on looser material. I focused my gaze on her face. Soft in sleep, beautiful in innocence. I wanted this woman. Needed to slide into her body and bury myself within her sheath. One of her hands curled beside her head. I uncurled her fingers, seeing the slight bruise and swelling from hitting me. If she touched me slowly, my scales would give way. Only in violence did they turn to armor. She’d hit me violently, making me laugh. But now, I pictured her body twisted, bleeding, and lifeless if I hadn’t caught her.

My Review

This is the first time I have read a dragon shifter book. I was curious when I read the blurb on it. I honestly thought It wouldn't work.
But I was so wrong. This book is amazing.

We get to see at the beginning a bit of the history and why the Dragons are cursed. Once the story story started I couldn't put this book down.

Acasia is one of 29 girls who had to put there names down to be claimed by the dragon. This happens once every hundred years. She is mouthy, clever and headstrong.

When the dragon comes to claim one of the girls no matter how much she doesn't want to go, He chooses her.

Bastian doesn't want to fall in love, not after Bethann. but it seems fate has other ideas.

This book will keep you hooked from the beginning. Its a lovely story that flows along just nice.

I loved everything about this story. The characters, the story line. The fact that it was about dragons was a welcome change from other shifter stories I have read.

I give this 4/5 stars.

I love a good book, strong cup of coffee, and my laptop. I want a book to take me away, the coffee to keep me awake during my travels, and my laptop to make sense of all the ramblings in my brain. My thoughts may be jumbled but when I write them out they make sense, I hope.
I live in a small Arizona town with my husband of 34 years and two spoiled dogs. I have a hardback, autographed book collection that would make any bibliophile drool. Love is where my heart is so I write romance with happy endings but I don't mind killing off a good character or two to keep things interesting.

Book Blast - Forever Your Heart By Mary Whitney

Title: Forever Your Heart (Beside Your Heart #3)
Author: Mary Whitney
Genre: Contemporary Fiction
Date: April 8, 2014
Publisher: Omnific Publishing
Event Organized ByLiterati Author Services, Inc.
I’m a journalist—Adam Kincaid, BBC reporter, to be exact, so I’m not going to bury the lead. I’m about to see the woman I never got over.
I know that because I’ve been back in America for years now, and I still don’t date American girls. My dad would say I’ve come to my senses, sticking to my own British patrician kind, but that’s crap. Mum, the psychologist, would more wisely say it’s my unresolved issues around Nicki. My teenage years are long behind me, yet my guilt over her remains. So I’ve avoided all things Nicki, though the irony is she’s the one avoiding me.
Maybe if we see each other, we can both move on. Could she ever forgive me? Can you forgive yourself when you hurt someone you love?
But please, don’t answer yet. I’ve jumped ahead of the story, and as a reporter, I should give you more background to get to the root of it all.
So let me tell you my story. Then you can be the judge.

OMG, I absolutely loved this book. When I first read it I was intrigued. But I did think it was going to be a lot like a lot of other books I've read. Not So. This is in a league in it's self. There's not one bit of it that I can single out- I Liked all of it.

Carson Bradley LOVED Emma when they were seventeen, until she died of cancer. Then he closed himself of to the world in every way possible. He devotes his life to finding a cure. Becoming rich and powerful.

His mother steps in to do an intervention and slowly he becomes part of the living again. But his mother begins to start setting him up with dates until he is due to marry someone he doesn't love.

The night before his wedding he is still unsure about getting married and he's delayed his flight until the last minute. with devastating consequences.

I loved the character's in this. What's not to love. Carson Bradley.... hot and sexy.
Lillain ly is adorable and I love everything about her character.
Bianca the girl he's due to marry...... well ......

The picture of the story plays out in so much colour in my mind I could actually see everything that was described.

This book needs to be a part of your "TBR" list

It gets 5/5 stars .

He rips my panties off. The crisp, echoing sound of torn lace makes me even hotter. “Not good enough. Promise me, Lil.” His voice is more demanding and authoritative. Am I finally seeing and hearing the real Carson? He drops down to his knees to place his head between my thighs, gently spreading them apart. Oh god, I feel his pounding tongue, taunting and coercing me to tell him what he wants to hear. He’s too good at this. I’m not a worthy opponent against his seduction.

“Uh…uh…yes, I promise,” I pant as his velvet tongue glides inside my pulsing walls, tasting the sweet result of his doing. Without any warning, I hear a soft buzzing sound and then vibrating sensation sends my entire body into an explosive volcanic eruption. “Uh…uh…Carson, oh my god!” I moan and then clench my jaw, trying to hang on to my dignity. I find myself gripping the sheets tighter and then my fingers find their way through his thick, dark hair, pulling him closer to me with my bound wrists.”

Over a long year ago, I picked up a pen and wrote the first sentence of a fantasy that I’ve imagined ever since I was a daydreaming little girl—minus the steamy parts of course. That initial sentence was the seed that grew into my flowering romance book, “Beginning with Forever.” With all my heart, I wrote, rewrote, edited, re-edited and now, I’m finally ready to share it with all of you. Excerpt Reveal - All Lined Up By Cora Carmack

ALL LINED UP Synopsis:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

Soul Keeper Cover Teaser
Not seeing Simone all week left my craving for her unsatisfied and vibrating my blood with anticipation for when I could feed it again. New charges have kept me busy and the temptation to touch her when she was reaching out to me in her bedroom after the party nearly consumed and broke me. Distance was what I needed but now I need to see her again. I waited long enough; I have proven to myself that I’m strong and not a fool to human weakness.
Sensing her soul I appear close to her. She’s in a shop so I go to the coffee stool positioned opposite and order a drink. The girl serving me blushes when she hands me my change. I can sense her attraction to me; it radiates off her in waves and has her embarrassed because of it. I smile with a wink at her and drop the change into the tip jar. I hear her intake of breath and laugh quietly to myself as I turn and almost spill my cup onto Simone’s chest.
“Oh my go…,” she gasps and her eyes twinkle with recognition. A smile falls over her face, stilling my heartbeat. “We meet again.” Her soft musical voice flows.
“I’m sorry I nearly scalded your…” I look down at her impressive chest and back to her face, which is tinted with the pink flush from my gaze.
“Body,” I offer with a shake of my head, which earns me a giggle. It nearly floors me. Pulling a stray hair from her mouth, she watches my movements. Parting her lips, her tongue darts out to moisten them; I caress her bottom lip with the pad of my thumb, taking the hair with it across to her cheek. There’s an electrical storm erupting inside my body. Her eyes are glazed; everything around us has fallen into silence, we are the only two who exist in this moment.
My thumb retraces it journey to her mouth with a press of her lips she kisses it. My whole body crackles and tingles. She’s turned on and it magnifies my own arousal. Leaning forward without thought of consequence, I touch my lips to hers. Her body melts into mine; the taste of her red lips is like the sweetest forbidden fruit. The warmth of her tongue slips into my mouth and I meet it with my own: grasping her face deepening the kiss. Her supple body moulds further into mine, her breasts pushing against my chest, our hips pushing into each other’s. The whole world falls away and I feel like Heaven has claimed me and this is it; she is my Heaven.
“Holy shit!” a voice shouts out, ringing in my ears.
Simone pulls away, breathless, her pouty red lips still slightly open and swollen from my kiss. Her eyes roam my face with bewilderment. “That was…”
“Amazing,” I finish her sentence.
Her friend grabs her shoulders and turns her from my gaze. It breaks the spell. I notice we have gathered an audience as were standing in the middle of the mall making out like we were in a private room. She looks around and drops her face to the floor, embarrassed. Lifting her chin, I whisper, “Never look down Simone, only up.” I bring my lips to her forehead before walking away once again.
When not lost in my mind of characters i can be found reading or spending time with family. I prefer a darker edge to my writing, not all life and love stories are light, some are grown from darkness. I was raised by a bookaholic. My mum started me on Anne rice as soon as i was old enough. I love losing myself in an authors world and create them for my fans.
