Blog Tour - True Bliss By B.J. Harvey

Title: TRUE BLISS (Bliss # 2)
Author: BJ Harvey
Published: November 25th
Organized by: The Book Avenue
She watched her best friend find her superhero.

Now she wants her turn.

Despite a run of bad dates with Mr. Wrong, Mr. Boring, Mr. Bad Breath, Mr. Grabby Hands, and even Mr. Say I Love You After One Date To Get Into Your Pants, Kate McGuinness is more determined than ever to find the one.

Having tried everything else, she turns to the internet in a last ditch attempt to find her elusive prince.
But Kate doesn’t want an everyday, run of the mill love.

She wants the kind of love that makes your heart skip a beat. The kind of love that makes you dance in the rain and bottle up the sunset. The once in a lifetime kind of love that authors write about, musicians sing about, and lovers dream about.

Could a certain police officer in training, who has come to her rescue in the past, be the one to swoop in and save her heart?

What if the love Kate desperately seeks has been in front of her the whole time?

She just needs to open her eyes to see it...

*Disclaimer: This book contains a hot as hell stripper with a penchant for public sex and exhibitionism who may or may not succeed in bringing out the inner firecracker in all of us. Oh, and don't forget the batteries.*

Realizing that the day is getting away from me, I gather my laundry for the week and head around the block to Suds R Us, my local laundromat. Once I have the washing machine on, I sit back in the plastic chairs lining the wall and pull out my phone. Time for my weekly phone call to Mom and the girls.

It rings twice before my sister Danika picks up. “City morgue. You kill ‘em, we chill ‘em.”

She never fails to amaze me. “Danika, that is terrible!” I say, still chuckling to myself.

“Zan! Tell me you’re coming home soon.”

“I wish I was, squirt. I’m too busy with work and the academy. Who would’ve thought you have to study to become a cop?”

“Well duh! Of course you do. How else will you know how to get fat and eat donuts all day?”

“Oh is that what I’ll be doing all day? Well shit, I’m glad you told me now,” I reply sarcastically.

My Review
I loved the first book Temporary Bliss about Mac and Daniel, we also see a bit about a potential one night stand which doesn't happen between Kate and Zander.
I was so excited to read True Bliss. I wasn't disappointed. I loved it.
Kate is sometimes feeling a bit like a third wheel between Mac and Daniel and their smoochy moments. She wants her own superhero. So she joins an online dating site, Chicago singles. After a few disaster dates. She starts talking to a guy who doesn't give her a picture of body parts and of himself, he tells her he wants to get to know her first.
Zander regrets the night he pushed Kate away when she was drunk. After getting some advice from his mom and Mac. He try's to get to know her first. After some intervention from Mac. Zander moves into the flat and takes Mac's room while she stays with Daniel. So what happens next.
I loved this story it was funny, sexy. It had quite a few moments were I ooh, arhh'd, Laughed, wanted to shout at Kate.  And Zander...... what can I say. Girls there a new book boyfriend on the block and he wears a uniform!!!!!!
The characters come to life while your reading it and you can almost believe you are there watching. The flow and pace of this book is perfect.
BJ Harvey has a talent for transporting you smack, bang into her books that you can almost believe you are there watching. Once you start reading you don't want to stop till you are finished. This book was fantastically amazing. I cant wait to see what's next.
BJ Harvey thank you for letting me read an arc copy of this book. It was Truly Amazing.
I give this book 5/5 stars. and 3/5 for movie moments.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date:  October 27, 2013
Cover Designed By:  Kim Killion
Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.

Waitress Tess Branson has earned a bad reputation, and the nickname "Fast Tessie," as result of her poor judgment where men are concerned. Tess learned from a young age that men – of all ages – were interested in one thing from her and one thing only. But all Tess ever really wanted was to connect with someone special – to mean something to someone. Lucas Flynn, the short order cook at the restaurant where Tess works, has just been released on parole. He’s trying to get his life back on track, but can’t help noticing the pretty waitress who treats him kindly, despite his past. At Lucas’s urging, Tess makes a wish on a star, but they’ll have to rely on the magic of Christmas to help it come true.

The Christmas Wish is a novella and can be read as a standalone.

My Review
Tess Branson, was considered easy by everyone in her home town. Guys only wanted her for one thing. Tess never believed or had respect for herself. Until Lucas Flynn came along. Lucas was an ex con, in jail for sticking up for his sister. Lucas asks Tess out on a date. and sparks fly.

This is a really short novella. I thought towards the end it seemed a bit rushed, they go on a date then the next time he asks her to marry him. that seemed a bit unbelievable I liked this story. it's good for a quick read. The characters were believable. It was ok.

I give this 3/5 stars.

About the Author

KATY REGNERY, winner of several regional RWA contests, has always loved telling a good story and credits her mother with making funny, heartwarming tales come alive throughout her childhood. A lifelong devotee of all romance writing from Edwardian to present-day, it was just a matter of time before Katy tried her hand at writing a love story of her own.

As it turned out, one love story turned into a series of five Heart of Montana romances, following the love lives of the Yellowstone-based Lindstrom siblings. In addition to small-town contemporary romance, Katy is presently writing a paranormal romance that takes place in northern New England and the forests north of Quebec.

Speaking of forests, Katy lives in the relative-wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut where her writing room looks out at the woods and her husband, two young children and two dogs create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories of all are the messy and unexpected ones.

Review Snowed Over By Angie Stanton

To college student, Katie Brandt, ‘Home for the Holidays’ sounds like hell. When her parents separated, their holiday traditions shattered like a dropped ornament. What could be worse than celebrating Christmas with her suddenly single mom and mom’s new boyfriend?

Alex Walker, an engaged 20-year-old, dreads going home for his own reasons. He has a daunting task ahead of him and wishes he could skip the holidays altogether. So when a friend of a friend needs a ride north, Alex finds that having beautiful Katie seated by his side proves to be just the distraction he needs.

A simple ride home for Christmas turns into a nightmare when light snow rages into a full-scale blizzard. Katie and Alex find themselves stranded, and a vacant cabin becomes a haven from the storm.
Under different circumstances, time alone with Alex would be the ultimate Christmas gift, but Katie knows Alex is engaged and she must hide her growing attraction.

However, Alex harbors a secret that just might change this holiday from the worst Christmas ever, to the best

My Review

Katie's mum and dad have spilt and her mum has a new "friend- not the boyfriend" and wants Katie and her sister to join them for Christmas in his cabin. Katie arranges with a friend of a friend to give her a lift. Alex is engaged but has been trying to call it off - he doesn't want to be with her anymore. On the way a snow blizzard hit and after they have a near miss with a frozen river they manage to find shelter.

This story is so sweet. Its a lovely Christmassy Story That's gets you in the mood for the upcoming holiday.  This is a story that makes you want to sit down in front of a roaring fire with a cup of hot chocolate and read. There was nothing I didn't like about this story. Its a quick read, but you don't feel like its too short.

I loved Katie and Alex. I think I held my breathe with the river scene. I would recommend this a build up to the upcoming holidays.

This story gets 4/5 stars.

Review - Down to You By Addison Kline

Holly Edgemont used to love celebrating Christmas, that is, until her whole world was turned upside down by an unexpected divorce from her college sweetheart Brant. This year, not only is she divorced, but the kids are going out of state with her ex Brant, leaving her utterly alone. Holly's party-girl friend Sloane tries to break her out of her frump by dragging her along to holiday parties where Holly meets cute and available Chris. But when Holly realizes that she still has feelings for Brant, she has a decision to make: Learn to trust her long time love who broke her heart, or move on for good.

Brant Edgemont is a divorced father of three, and hopelessly in love with his ex-wife, Holly. He made the biggest mistake of his life walking out two years ago. Despite his pleas to reconnect, Holly still resists him. Is it too late to rekindle their love? Or will Holly move on for good, leaving Brant himself heartbroken and alone?

Down To You is not just a romantic love story. It is a story of familial love, friendship, betrayal, redemption, and the magic that can happen at Christmas time when friends and family join together

My Review

This is a sweet story of two people who love each other but two stubborn to do anything.

Holly and Brant are divorced, they have two children. After suffering a miscarriage Holly and Brant both grieve and feel guilt in there own ways which pushes them further apart. So its time for an intervention.

This was a great holiday read. The story was believable, I know first hand how hard it is to go through a miscarriage as I am sure a lot of people who go through it will tell you. This story is about two people finding each other again. I liked this story. it flowed nicely. It leaves you with that feel good factor.

I give this 3/5 stars.

“Fine. Bring me the damn suit,” I grumble begrudgingly.

“You’re the best! You know that?” Kara kisses me chastely. Her father is still there after all.

Bill laughs once Kara bolts up the stairs.

“Laugh now. Next thing you know she’ll make you be my elf!” I threaten good naturedly.

“I’d love to see that,” he says in between chuckles.

“Ah crap!” I pull my hands through my hair, seriously wanting to throw a child-sized temper tantrum at this turn of events.

“Think of it this way, son. It will be good practice for when you have kids. And you’re making those girls’ night.”

“Yeah… alright. I guess I can try to look on the bright side of things,” I concede. The last thing I need is for my soon to be father-in-law to think I’m a big baby.

Kara returns twenty minutes later with a giant red bag. I drag it into the bathroom and take my time changing. Part of me hopes that if I take too long the girls will fall asleep or something. Stranger things have happened.

“It’s Christmas Eve, Jacob. The girls won’t want to fall asleep regardless, so don’t think you can get out of this,” Kara calls through door.

How the hell does she do that? It’s worse than the eyes in the back of her head.

“I’ll be out in a minute,” I yell through the door.

After I velcro the giant pillow onto my belly, I turn to the side and stick my stomach out further, poking at my now enlarged gut. I roll my abdominal muscles making the pillow bounce and ripple. Chuckling at my nonsense, I step into the red, velvet pants. I pull the black suspenders over my shoulder and do a little jig watching as my stomach bounces around.

Apparently this suit sucks the seriousness out of you. Maybe it’s a magic suit…

I stop my musings and proceed to put the jacket on and button it up.

I look damn good in red. Even with a giant stomach.

Next comes the wig and beard, followed by the hat. Now I have absolutely no reason to walk out of this bathroom. Damn.

Opening the door, Kara is the first thing I see. Her face lights up and she graces me with a wide smile. She lifts her arm, and then she does the unthinkable when she snaps a picture with her cell phone.

“Lump of coal for you!” I shout and make like I’m going to attack her. When I lunge for her, she screeches and runs across the room.

Once I catch up with her, she reaches out and rubs red shit on my cheeks. “Really?” I ask not wanting to deal with this shit.

“You are so going to get lucky later,” she mumbles so only I can hear her.

“Damn straight. You owe me one creative session, Sunshine.”

“There is this new position I heard about that I’ve been curious to try.”

“It’s a good thing this suit is big, otherwise my sister would think Santa was a giant perv. What do you think you’re doing telling me that now?” I gripe, knowing my nieces can’t sit on my lap while I’m turned on.

“Sorry. I forget,” she says like that explains it all.

“You’re lucky I love you.” I kiss her forehead and start towards the stairs. “Let’s get this over with.”
